I attended my first CrossFit event, Deadman's Chest 2024, and I guarantee you this journey is as refreshing as a cold plunge - quite literally!
The whirlwind of events started the night before. I played vendor converting cold tubs into rejuvenating cold plungers. The quest for water ended in an adventurous trip to B&M to get extra supplies to extend the hose. If you're ever out of ideas and short on hose length - hey, Google and good ol' friends have got your back!
Fast forward to the next morning brimmed with adrenaline as we filled the cold plungers and ice-loaded from Sainsbury's. What unfolded was an awe-inspiring display of strength, agility, and sheer willpower from fans and athletes of CrossFit Penzance. Among this fantastic group were Hayley, Jake, Jay, Dan, Dom, and Mikey who endeared themselves to the crowd and myself with their bravado and unbridled enthusiasm.
If you're new to the CrossFit universe, you'll be greeted by four intense rounds of vigorous workouts, every couple of hours, that will push your limits. You'll wrestle with weights in Olympic lifts, perform gymnastics moves, and engage in a multitude of functional fitness exercises. All under 15-20 Big thanks to everyone for participating!
